Pastors Brent and Megen serve as the leaders of Faith Journey Church. Brent and Megen met at Palmer Seminary, married before graduation, and have served together for 24 years. They have two children, Kaeleigh and Caleb, and one exuberant Aussie Shepherd/Border Collie, Rossco.
Pastor Brent focuses on preaching and teaching, discipleship and spiritual formation, and community engagement. In his spare time, Brent is an aspiring blacksmith who enjoys turning guns into garden tools at the RawTools shop in Philadelphia. His present quest is to live the life of an ordinary mystic. He is the author of several books, including Grace at the Threshold and The Challenger: Faith, Love, and Resistance in the Gospel of Mark. You can find these, and other musings, on his blog Stars Above Me. In a former life (pre-pastor, that is) he was an attorney and Assistant Ocean County Prosecutor. Brent wanders and wonders in the woods with Rossco every morning, rain or shine.
Pastor Megen works primarily with our Children and Youth, leading Children’s Church on Sunday morning and Holy Quest Youth group on Sunday evenings, and connecting with our college students . In her spare time, she enjoys traveling with family, experiencing the outdoors and searching for waterfalls. Megen enjoys finding opportunities to share the love of Jesus beyond the walls and boundaries of the church. Her training for both ministry and social work (she holds a Masters in each field) assists her greatly as she shares the love of Jesus both in and outside of the church.
Both Brent and Megen have a passion for peace and justice, and enjoy spending time witnessing to and with the broader community that in Jesus, another world is possible.
